. : «, : — ' [Special to Press Association.] LONDON, Nov. 30. Wheat— The English wheat market is steady, the Continental dull and the American changing a little for the better. Tallow. — One thousand nine hundred casks were offered and eight hundred sold. Medium mutton 22s 3d, do beef 21s 6d. Wool.— -The total number of bales catalogued to date is 45,800,: of which 41,600---have been sold. ' •; iirrived-rßanffshire.; - t / '■'■-' : (^ MELBOtJEWEjpKC. 2.' Arrangements have been completed with the Gulf Line of steamers for the direct monthly carriage of frozen produce to Manchester, via the ship canal. The Liverpool and Glasgow contract does not come into operation till May, but if sufficient freight offers it is probable that one or two steamers will be despatched before. The rates are— For meat and butter $d per lb, cheese 15-I6bhs of a penny, rabbits and , poultry 75s per ton, fruit .4s per caße. Messrs Dalgety; and Co. (Limited) have received the following cablegram from their head office :— Tallow market steady without change in priceß. - Expect a decline in prices if 'shipments are heavy. Good demand for rabbitskins in general, first quality since our last cable are higher by l^d, common fd. .Wool sales continue firm with an . upward tendency, v. Continental and Amerioan buyers . are the 'principal operators. The New Zealand Loan and MercantileAgency Company, Limited, has received cable advice as follows :— LONDON, Nov. 29.
