ALEXANDRE DUMAS.

Alexandra Dumas, the celebrated novelist and dramatic writer, died today. Dumas, son of the late M, Alexandra Davy Dumas, was born in 1824. He may be said to have ' belonged to the sensuous aohool of French literatore, and for many years he was considered the grea'est living dramatic exponent of the demi-monde. His principal work of fiction, " La Dame mix Camelias," became one of the best-lsnown productions of the day. A dramatic version was played in 1852, after having been interdicted by M. Leon Faucher, and reproduced in Verdi's opera La Traviata, created a still grea'or sensation. Many of his later works have been dramatised.]
