WORK AND WAGES.
[Pbb Pbbßb Association.] WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. At a meeting of the Trades and Labour Council, it was reported that a letter had been received from the Canterbury Trades Council, suggesting certain improvements in the working of tne Labour Bureau. The Secretary stated that he had interviewed Mr Tregear in reference to the matter, and had ascertained that the Buggeßted improvements were already in force with one exception. With regard to this one exception, the Bureau had agreed to carry out the suggestion of the Canterbury Council. The Trades and Labour Council is protesting against the Post and Telegraph Cash Purchase Association, which has been formed by the employe's of the Post and Telegraph Departments. In response to a request from a deputation from the Surplus Labour League, bie Worship the Mayor has promised to convene a public meeting on the unemployed question for next Tuesday night.
