Pirates Football Club.
The annual concert in connection with this club was held' in ° the Oddfellows' Hall, Addington, last evening, and passed off very successfully. There was a large audience, the hall being crowded. The committee had drawn up an excellent < programme, and many of the performers had to respond to encores. The Primrose Assembly- Band played two instrumental selections ; Mr D. Sinclair played a clarionet solo, "Fantasia, Bohemian Girl ;" Miss Lily Thompson sang " The Chinese Love Song" and "Sweet and Low;" Miss Maud Hewaon, "By the Fountain " and "The Breadwinner;" Misa Watson, a selected aong; Mieß May Brockett, "Pretty Little Darlioe:" Mr B. Lovell, " The Carnival" and " Margaorite;" Mr A. W. Woodward, "Big Ben" and" The Warrior Bold;" Mr A. F. Young, " King Davy " and "The Belfry Tower; and Mr S. Williamson, " The Holy City." Mr C. Edgar was very succeßsf ul with his humorous songs, as waa Mr D. Ryan with his recitations. Mr R. Ashley gave a humorous lecture very well. The accompaniments were played by Mrs C. Edgar and Mr J. Brockett. The proceeds of the concert will be handed to a member of the club who met with an accident on the football field early in the season. All the performers gave their services voluntarily. After the concert a very enjoyable dance was held.
