[Pbb Pbbss Association.! wxd-.eßi.ay, august 28. AITEENOON SITTING. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. AMMUNITION. Tho Hon B. Phabazyn aßked the Colonial Seoretary if he would be good enough to inform the Council how mnoh ammunition waa in reserve in the colony. The Colonial Secbetart said that he could hardly believe that the honorable gentleman was serious in asking the question. The honorable gentleman had placed himself within the four corners of the Militia and Volunteer Secrets Act, and rendered himself liable to the penalties of the law. He oould assure the Council that there was plenty of ammunition in the colony to withstand ordinary f OOT. BILLS. The Wilson Land Bill and the Fenoing Bill were ieceived from the House and read a first time. It was agreed to accept a verbal amendment in the Adulteration Amendment Act made by the House. The Hone W. D. Stewart, W. H. Eeynolds and G. M'Lean were appointed managers toa conference with the House on the amendments in the Dnnedin Drainage and Sewage Bill. The Houee, by message, intimated tnat it disagreed with tho Council's amendments in the Family Homes Protection Bill. On the motion of the Colonial Secbktabt, it was resolved to consider the message on the next day. The Countieß Aot Amendment Bill wai read a third time and passed. ' The Invercargill Corporation Eeserve Exohange Bill was read a seoond time, on the motion of the Hon EL Feldwick. WAGES ATTACHMENT. The Colonial Sbobbtabt moved the second reading of the Wages Attachment Abolition Bill introduced in the House. The Hon W. D. Stbwabt thought that if the wages of workmen were proteoted to ! _B1 per week, it would be sufficient. A man might have been ont of worfc for ; monthß, and it would be only fair in such, instances that he Bhould be enabled to keep sufficient out of his wages to maintain his family. After a debate, the second reading was agreed to. IHFBBBT SUPPLY. An Imprest Supply Bill (No. 3) was read a first time. : At 5 p.m. the Council adjourned till 2.30 p.m. on Thursday.
