CHRISTCHURCH. Fbidat, August 16. (Before Mr A. Soott, J.P. and Mr E. Skog, J.P.) Alleged Housk-bbbaking. — George Sfcanton and William Aldridge, two young men, were charged with having,- on or about August 8, broken into the warehouse of Frederick Trent, in Durham Btreefc, and otolen therefrom 2661b of tobacco and one box of Old Judge cigarettes, of the total value of -£60 18s 6d, the property of Frederick Trent. Mr Donnelly appeared , for both the accused. On the application of the police the accused were remanded till August 23. Miscellaneous. — Alexander Robinson wa£ fined ss, and costs 7s, for leaving his trap unattended in a right-of-way off Cashel Street, on August 4.— Patrick Howard was fined ss, and costs 7s, for driving his cab at other than a walking pace across the intersection of High and Cashel Streets, on August 2. William Ewings, similarly charged, was fined sa, and coats 7s. — William Hill was fined 10a and coßts for furiously driving his cab along High Street on August 2. — An order was made prohibiting licensed persons and others in the Chriatohurch, Rjccarton and Avon Licensing Districts from supplying a man with intoxicating liquor for a period of j twelve months.— Harry Feast waa charged with having, on August 3, remained on the footpath in High Street so as to impede persons passing along. After hearing the evidence, the Bench dismissed the case. Chaoses Withdbawn.— -Alice Clayton was charged, on the information of Samuel Henaley, with having, on August 5, stolen one overcoat, one suit of clothes, five shirts, and several other articles, value £8 16s, from the dwelling-house of the said Samuel Henaley, in Antigua Street. On the application of Mr M'Connel, who appeared for the informant, the charge was withdrawn.—A charge against James Hosking of having received certain articles, value £8 Us, from Alice Clayton was also withdrawn.
