RIVER BOARD.
» A meeting of tbe South Waimakariti Biver Board was held this afternoon; present — Messrs W. Boag (chairman) B, W. England, B. M. Taylor, C. F. Money, J. C. Atkinson and H. Crookß. The Overseer reported that there had been no floods in the river daring the past month. Seventy-f our chains had been fenced along the north side of lot 11, eaolosing 34 acres for planting; 28,000 trees had been planted, and 20,000 more had been taken up ready to plant. This whole work would <oost about £68, and the planting would be completed by Thursday next. That would leave . a balance of £32 for repairing the fences between the freeholdera* lands and the Board's reserves. It was decided to instruct the overseer to repair the boundary fenoes in cases where the freeholders were willing to contribute towards the «oßt. Some routine business eras transacted, and accounts amounting t» 4116 19a 8d were passed for payment, after wbioh th© sMftinf terminated.
