Avon Refuge.

The manager reports that during the past week the following contributions have been received :— Mr Hopkins, meat ; Mr H. S. M'Clatchie and Co., one ton of ooali Mrs Powrie, New Brighton, two parcels of clothing ; Mr Marsaok, clothing ; Mrs Tribe, Hereford Street, boots ; Miss Norton* parcel of clothing ; Sergeant-Major Mason* clothing. During the past week the Befuge has sheltered thirty-two men* seven of whom were destitute hospital patients. The Treasurer (Rev W« Birch) acknowledges the following cash dona* tions :— Mr Bishop, £1 Is ; T.A., Opawa, £1; Mrs Strong, Montreal Street, 10s j Mrs Ingles, 6s; J. Ballantyne and Co,, £2 2bi a Friend, ss. Contributions of food and clothing will be thankfully reoeived and duly acknowledged. A contribution of JBI Is from Mr Quill was sent in error to the Winter Work Fund.
