MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE.
A meeting of the Executive Committee was held at Mr H. B. Kirk's office on Saturday afternoon ; present— Messrs H. B. Kirk, E. Allan, R. W. England, S. Hurst Seager, G. R. Hart, T. N. Horsley. W. W. Charters, J. B. Triggs and Captain M'Clatchie. On the recommendation of the Refreshment Committee, it waa decided to accept the tender of Mr Hick mo tt for the right to sell fruit and lollies in the exhibition, and the tender of Mrs S. Sparks, of Halswell, for the Bupply of milk. An offer was received from Mr J. Bromley to place hia services at the disposal of the committee free for two affcer- ! noons or eveningß a week. Meaarß Atkinj son and Tomline offered the use of two i or three of their force pumps at the exhi- | bition. | The offers were accepted with thanks. The meeting went into committee to consider the question of lighting. Upon j j resuming it wsb reported that the following ; resolution had been agreed to :— " That i the tender of the Gas Company for supplying extra lighting to exhibitors be accepted ; that the committee charge ex- ! hibitora 10s per ordinary light for the I month, and 25s per incandescent lamp of seventy-candle power for the came period ; the electric light not to be used in the exhibition except as an exhibit." The Chairman was requested to write to the Premier, asking that the Government grant might be paid over as scon aB convenient. It was resolved to authorise the Building Committee to lengthen the refreshment I room by 25ft, and to provide a secretary's office and lavatories. After some routine business the meeting closed.
