■» [feoh our own cobbbspondbnt.] LYELL, August 10. Mr G. F. Wright, legal manager of the United Alpine Low Level and Cocksparrow Companies, died from heart disease to-day. He had been unwell for three months. His age is thirty-three and he leaves a wife and two children. , [Pie Pbbss Association.! WELLINGTON, August 10. The Conference of delegates of Municipal Associations, fixed for August 19, haa been adjourned to a date to be fixed when the Local Government Bill is introduced. The weather ib still cold, and heavy showers are falling. The County Council Conference, which it was proposed to postpone until August 23, began to-day. This morning's business was formal. The Somerville murder trial still occupies the Supreme Court, and it is not likely to be finished for some hours. The evidence called to-day was much to the same effect aa yesterday's as to the pecuiarity of the accused. DUNEDIN, August 10. John Milvin, a boy charged with stealing from a dwelling goods to the value of JB6 14s 3d, has been committed for trial.
