RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.

Monday. Another fine morning and a large number of onlookers witnessed a fair amount of work done. Marino cantered twice round, and was followed by Eangefinder over half the distance. Booties travelled at half-pace over three rounds, while Warsaw, Sir Isaao and Pilgrim -were given slow exercise over two. Silver Spec, in sweaters, traversed one circuit alone at half-pace, and was then joined by Goodwood, and the pair went on at a slightly increased rate for two more circuits, in the last of which the lad who was riding Silver Speo had great difficulty in getting her along. Boyal was despatched for two, and Chryatal and Roscius for three rounds at half pace, while Lascar and Norton, ridden by his owner, were associated for one round over the fences, which Norton did not negotiate with his usual dash. Lascar afterwards cantered. Barnardo, who was carrying the lighter weight, defeated Solano over a fast mile, and walked lame after cooling down. Lord of Misrule wag several lengths too good for Hard Case in a brush over six furlongs, and Triton had Mystical in trouble over a similar distance, which the pair galloped after covering two rounds slowly. Austral cantered once round and was then joined by Bona fid*, and the pair galloped another circuit fast. This gallop, compared with others Austral has performed, clearly shows he is not improving. Despised after covering one round alone was associated with Ulster for two rounds at half and three-quarter pace. Glengarrie and Boomerang were similarly exercised over two rounds, while Georgie Sharpe, Jewel and Mainstay separately covered two rounds at half pace. Social Peat, Eotoma, Sepo and War Dance cantered twice ronnd. Shanks jumped several fences in good style. Nero and The Bishop were started together for schooling over hurdles and fences, but The Bishop, who jumped well enough when the pace was slow, ran round every obstacle when it improved, Nero was, therefore, practically alone for the whole of two rounds, in whioh he fenced well. Liberator covered one mile fast, and Miss Madge one round at three-quatter pace. Fahau accomplished half-pace work over three rounds, and Donald M'Kinnon was sent at threequarter pace and top for two circuits as were Victim and Brin, the latter of whom had his companion in trouble at the finißh. Couranto and Mutiny galloped the laet mile and a quarter of two rounds in good style, neither being extended,, and Sunspot and JGebel -el - Tarik were schooled over the hurdles for two rounds, the hunter refusing at on© fenoe. Yogengang galloped a mile fast* besting Minerva over the last four f arlongs, and King John accomplished half-pace exercise twice round, as did Kahuraßgi and Black* bird, while Much Ado covered a round more at a similar rate. Marcehal Neil was schooled twice round, jumping the fences well, but refusing at the hurdles.
