Avon Refuge.
The manager of the Avon Refuge reports that the following contributions have been received : — Mr Hopkins, meat and soup; Mr Forrester, meat; Mr H. S. Harris, meat; Mr Berry, meat; Messrs Langdon and Steele, meat; -Mrs Weeks, East Belt, bread; Mr Congreve, tinware ; Commercial Hotel, boots and overcoat; Messrs Joseph Clarke and Son, one eack potatoes and onions; A Lady Friend, Armagh Street, soup and milk ; Mr Freeman, milk; A Friend, tea; Railway, clothing; Friend, books; Mr W. E. M'Dougall, Sunday at Home} Friend, food ; Mra A. J. White, four pairs blankets ; Mr Cooper, clothing per H. B. Sorensen. Daring the week thirty-three men have been sheltered. The Treasurer, the Rev W, Birch, begs to acknowledge the following cash donations : — Messrs E. Eeece and Sons £2 2s, Mr Armiger J6l, Messrs Lonargan and Co. 53, Mr Carl 10a, Mra Dallas 10a, Mr J. M. Walker .£1 la, Mr Molloy 3a 6d, Friend 2a, Mrs Tribe Bs, SI. J. 6d, Friend Is, Friend 4s, Friend Is, Mrs Welsh sa, Miss Welsh 2a 6d, Employer sa, Friend 2s 6d, Mr G. Gladen 2s. Daring the month 171 different men have been temporarily sheltered, and some destitute women have also been assisted. The x&anagement intend, if possible*, to tako thirty such women off the streets and provide them with an infirmary home.
