Mails close for the following places as under, subject to' the necessary alterations : — Monday, August 5. i For Cheviot and Kaikoura, per Wakatu, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. Tuesday, August 6. For Westport, per Janet Nicoll, at 11 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.20 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Timaru, per Omapere, at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For' Northern Forte, per Corinna, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. Wednesday, AugUßt 7. For United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, and West Indies (via San Francisco), Hawaiian Islands and Samoa, and also for Northern Porta of New Zealand, per Takapuna, as follows :— -Ordinary letters, 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; books and newspapers, 7.30 p.m. ; money orders, 4 p.m. ; registered letters 5 p.m. j guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. Due in London Sept. 11. Thursday, August 8. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies, per Hauroto, at 3 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. traia.
