ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
• [Pbb Press Association. J WELLINGTON, Jolt 14. Seaman Sacb, of H.M.S. Ringarooma, who died in the hospital on Thursday, from liver complaint, was buried ' with military honours to-day, there being a large attendance of volunteers, but; none of the permanent force were present. OAMARTT, July 15. A. three-roomed cottage was destroyed by fire thiß morning. A little girl named Slater, seven years of age, was burned to death. DUNEDIN, July 15. James Keating, caretaker of the waterworks at Arrowtown, was found dead on Saturday, having, it is supposed, fallen oVer the water-race. He had gone out to attend to his duties, and not returning to dinner his wife went in search, and found his body. Mr William Evans, who has been in the employ of Mr F. Arenas, at the Cafe" de Paris, for a number of years, met with a painful accident about half -past eight o'clock" this morning. He was dusting the fanlight above the front door of the hotel in Cashel Street, when the ladder upon which he was standing slipped. Mr Evans fell backwards on to the tiled floor and sustained serious injury to his spine. Dr Townecd was- at once sent for, and in the afternoon Mr Evans was taken to his home on an ambulance stretcher.
