Intense cold is being experienced in many parts of the colony. The Nepean river has been frozen for a week, the ice being two and a half inches thick. TREATMENT OF SULPHIDES. Mr Potter, of Melbourne, has been experimenting with Broken Hill sulphides with the view of extracting the zinc and converting it into a marketable product. Ha has been so far successful that a plant capable of treating a hundred tons of crude material daily is being erected. SMALL-POX. ADELAIDE, July 15. The small-pox patients are progressing satisfactorily.
