The Wellington Knights of Labour have tiasßed a series of resolutions on political subieotßi Amongßt other things they urge the Government to extend the municipal franchise ; to give easier opportunities for settling on the land j to work mining leases where the conditions have not been complied with, by co-operative labour ; to increase the poll tax on Chinese to £100 ; to abolish the duties on the necessaries of life, reoonping the amount by abolishing exemptions under the Land taxj to establish a State bank; to support the Beferendum Bill and State fire insurance} to appoint counsel for defence as well as .prosecution; to give equal rights to both eexes in marriage and divorce. Alao, calling on members to support an elective exeoutive, patty government being a failure.
Iv the Loo-Ohoo Islands, though there are neither vehicles nor public lighting, the inhabitants have letter-boxes and telephones.
