Poultry Show.

STDENHAM.

The Sydenham Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Society opened its fourteenth annual show in the Mission Hall, Sydenham, yesterday. The entries numbered 512, made up as follows :— Poultry 270, pigeons 222, canaries 20. Although the entries were fewer in number, the quality of most of the exhibits was better than that of last year. The majority of the different olaaseß were well represented. The Bhodes Trophy for the best game cockerel in the show was won by Mr T. Sweet, of Lyttelton, and Mr E. S. Leversedge, of Papanui, gained the trophy for . the best game pullet. The following were the Judges :— Poultry, Messrs A. Jobnetone, C. Deal and A. Clark ; pigeons, Messrs M. S. Temple and J. M'Lean; canaries, Messrs G. Ritchie and J. Stapleton. Great credit is doe to the honorary Secretary, Mr W. Fraaer, for the manner in which he worked to make the show a saooeas, and also to the othar officers of the sooiety.
