Savaoi Club. — There was a very large gathering of braves around the Council fire of the Savage Club laat evening. The The mere was wielded by Savage W. W. Collins, and a very pleasant evening was apent with song, reoitation and story, several visitors contributing items. Thb Pbohibition Movement.— A meeting in connection with thi i movement waß held ab Sefton on Friday evening. The Attendance numbered about fifty, and the Bey J. Dellow took the chair. Addresses were given the Bay P. R. Monro and Mr E. Taylor ; aad on the motion of Mr J. Barclay the following motion was unanimously cariied — "That this meeting, after consideration of tho amendments to the i existing Licensing Act proposed by the ! Hew Zealand Alliance, «nd by the League conventions held at Danedin and Chris tohuroh dniinj the months of April last, heartily approves of thoee amendments, and urgra the member for this electorate to do hia utmost to Becure that they Bhall become law dm ing the session."— Messrs Taylo; and Wate and the Esv J. Pindlßy Addressed a large meeting in the school- , room at Okain'a Bay on Wednesday evening. Mr W. H. Walker occupied the tihair. The speakers laid before the meeting the principal features o£ the new Bill to be introduced into the House of Eepre•entatives by the prohibition party. The following resolution, proposed by Mr 0. Moore and seconded by Mr J.
