At the Supreme Court Judge Connolly reversed the Registrar's decision declaring Wi Pere a bankrupt, and set aside the order of adjudication. INVERCAEGILL, June 11.
The Supreme Court opened thiß morning before Judge Williamß. The calendar j includes cases of murder, rape, forgery, perjury and theffc. The Judge's remarks in charging the Grand Jury ware brief. Referring to the Dean case, hie Honor eaid that if the evidence that came before them corresponded with the depositions he had read, they could hardly escape finding a true bill. True bills were returned in all cases. John Comber Young, a married man, for forgery, was admitted to probation for twelve months, one condition being that he should abstain from liquor for that period. William John Calverfc, formerly an employe in iutagerald'e circue, pleaded guilty to ■ a ■ ™al assault on a girl ten years old atEiverton, and was sentenced to seven years imprisonment and one flogging of twenty lashes. William Scobie, aged e V* hteen 'i o ? ***• ceny, waa admitted to twelve months probation. Alexander M'Kecaie, aged nineteen, for stealing two chequea, waa sea--1 tenced to one month's baid labour.
