TARANAKI PETROLEUM.
A telegram from New Plymouth says : — The quantity and quality of oil obtained at Moturoa continue to be satisfactory, and Mr Fair has now pegged out sites for several new bores. Numerous applications are being made from other parts of the colony to Mr Pair to apply in Sydney for shares. He declines correspondence, but suggests that persons wanting shares may authorise some person in New Plymouth to Bign the request which is being made by New Plymouth applicants to the number already of 3500 shares. The draft articles of association provide for 6000 shares o! £1 each, of which half are to be paid np shares, given for the syndicate's property. The deposit is 2s 6d, and future calls are to be limited to ls each. Mr Fair continues to be inundated with applications, and states that he findß it impossible to answer correspondence. , Messrs Samuel and Fair will leave per Rotomahana for Sydney on Wednesday.
