DUNEDIN, June 6.

The Dunedin Assembly of the Knights of Labour has passed a resolution asserting that the action of the Government in reducing the employment of poor men on \ co-operative public works in order to make work for the unemployed is calculated to accentuate rather than diminish poverty, and asking the Government to reconsider the position. DUNEDIN, June 7. The Knights of Labour object to the diminution of hourß on co-operative works, as accentuating rather than diminishing poverty; the principle thus endorsed of taking from the poor to feed the poor is unjustifiable at any time, and especially in the middle of winter. The Government will be asked to reoonaider the position.
