NEW ZEALAND BUGBY UNION.
[Pbb Pbbss Association..] WELLINGTON, Jvvt* 2.
A meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union waa held last night. Several members of the committee were of opinion that it would be an advantage if referees' associations and unions would take in hand the appointment of touch judges, as at present the position with regard to them waß in many places most unsatisfactory. The Chairman (Mr A. Wells, Auckland) thought that a referee should have the right to appoint touch judges. Mr W. J. Strong, of Dunedin, was appointed a member of the Appeal Committee. It was decided to write to the Queensland Union, advising that the team should leave Sydaey in the Monowai for Auckland on August 6, playing the first match in Auckland on August IQ.
