Ballance Liberal Association.
A meeting of those interested in forming a branch of tbe Ballance Liberal Association at St Albans was held in tho Knightstown Library last evening. There was an attendance of thirty- five, including six ladies. Mr J. H. M'Millan, president of the Waltham Association, was voted to the chair. The Chairman Bpoke of the work done by the Waltham Association, the platform and rules of which were read. Mr Bull moved, and Mr C. B. Kelly seconded, and it was carried—" That tho.e present form themselves into a Ballance Liberal Association." Mr H. Knight was appointed secretary pro Hem., and a Provisional Committee was appointed. Mr Bull was elected chairman of the Provisional Committee. Mr T. Gapes gave a short addre&B on the objects of the Ballance Liberal Association. A letter was read from Mr Scholfield, secretary of the AntiChinese League, asking the meeting to appoint a delegate to act on the antiChinese Committee and attend a meeting to be held on Thursday next. Mr C. B. Kelly was appointed delegate. It was decided to ask Mr W. W. Collins, M.H.R., to deliver an address at the meeting on Friday next. A vote of thanks to the Chairman closed the meeting.
