New Zealand Polo Association.
A meeting of tho New Zealand Polo Association was held last evening at the office of the Secretary, Mr A. E. G. Rhodes, Hereford Street. Mr G. Palmer was voted to the chair. A letter wbb read from hia Excellency the Governor accepting the presidency of ths Association. Replies were received from ten clubs on the questions :— (1) As to whether an emergency man for a No. I team should be taken from No. 2 team; and (2) ns to whether the names of players should be sent in to the secretary before the tournament took place. Tbe following ten c'.uba were in favour of the first motion : — Oroua Downs, Auckland, North Canterbury, Poverty Bay, Warrengate, Wellington, Rangitikei, Manawatu, Feilding aud Christchurch. The motion was therefore carried unanimously. The second motion Was carried by six to four, the voting being — For : Oroua Downs, Auckland, North Canterbury, Poverty Bay, Warrengata^and Feilding. Against : Wellington, Rangitikei, Manawatu and Christchurch. A letter was read from the Ranelajjh Club, London, inviting the Association to send a team to compete at the International Polo Tournament, which the club proposed to hold in July. It was decided to reply to the Ranelagh Club, thanking them for their invitation, nnd regretting that owing to the shortness of the notice it was impossible for the Association, to send a team. Tho colours of the Wellington Club — light and dark blue saah and cap — were ap Droved. It was reported that owing to a flood the Manawatu Club's ground would be' unfit for next year's tournament. The meeting then terminated.
