THE CHINESE LOAN. The Rothschilds are taking a leading part in the Chinese loan. CHITRAL. CALCUTTA, May 30. It is reported in Simla that the Indian Government advises the permanent occupation of Chitral, and the construction of a road thither. UNITED STATES POLITICS. WASHINGTON, Mat 30. The Ohio Republican Convention declared in favour of honest money, gold, silver or paper, denounced free wool, and nominated Mr M'Kinley for the Presidency. EGYPT. PARIS, Mat 30. Native Egyptians have presented a largely signed petition to the French Chamber of Deputies, asking for the protection of mixed European tribunals against the native courts. The petition was presented through M. Deloncle.
