Presentation. — The members of the League of the Cross met at the ProCathedral library on Tuesday to present one of the League members, Mr J. O'Shea, with a token of their esteem previous to hia departure for the North Island. The presentation was made by the Chairman, Mr J. P. Young, and was in the form of two books, the name of the recipient being suitably inscribed in each. Mr O'Shea tbankdd the members for their present, and expressed his regret at leaving the Bociety. During the evening songs were contributed by Messrs J. and R. Peterson, J. P. Young and J. Farrelly j recitations by Messrs J. Ormandy, A. Ba g le y» M. O'Reilly and C. Shanley; violin solos by Messrs J. Griffin and J. Farrelly. During the interval refreshments were handed round, and those present spent a very pleasant evening.
