■Akaroa.— The Queen's Birthday was celebrated at Akaroa by holding the annual acbool picnic on the recreation ground. The local Athletic Association got oif four events at 100, 220, 440 and 880 yds. The first three w.re won by L. Mason, of Okain's, and tbe last by T. Penlington. In the afternoon a football match was played between the Akaroa Club and Okain's, the former winning, after a very stubborn contest, by six points (two tries) to five (one goal).
