The Public Gabdens.— The stock of birds and animals in the public gardens at the present time is aa follows :— Two paira of fantail pigeons, one Wanga Wanga pigeon, one kea, one magpie, two English jackdaws, two rilver pheasants, eight English cock pheasants, four English hen pheasants, one owl, three Chinese geese, one EBglish goose, three swans, three kangaroos, one wallaby, two Native hawks, two English ducks, one teal, one mallard, two Australian native companions (orane), one Native gray duck, one monkey, two «mu3, two llamas, one golden - creßted grebe. The .fish-ponds are welK stocked with various kinds of trout. The best medicine known is Sanders and Sons* Bbcaltpti Extract.
