Illegally on Premises. — James Cumminß was charged with being illegally at night on the railway premises, and with having a picklock key in his poßßession. He pleaded guilty to being on the premises, bnt 'stated that the key had been found by him that day. Conßtable Heather deposed that the accused came to Lyttelton by the laßt train on Wednesday night. "Witness saw him loitering about the town, and at 3 a.m. arrested him, having found him in a railway van. When arrested he had the key produced, a piece of candle and some matches in his pocket. Witness also found three different kinds of tobacco on him. Accused was senfc to gaol for seven days on the first charge, and for six months for having the key in his possession. ;.
