At the Police Court, before Mr Northcroft, S.M., the firat of the charges against John Adean, of GHsborne, under the penal clause of tbe Bankruptcy Act, was heard. Counsel eabmitted that the accused did not get credit by false pretences and fraud. The case was dismissed. In the Supremo Court, before Mx Barton, Begistrar, the hearing of an application was commenced ia which Duncan and James M'Nicol, of Auckland, petitioned that Wi Pere, M.H.E., be adjudged a bankrupt. The debt to the judgment creditors is .£4311, and it is alleged that the debtor committed an net of bankruptcy on March 12. Mr Nolan appeared in support of the petition, and Mr Eeeß for Wi Pere.
