Withern, pianist. • , - ; IRangioba Eokough Eeberve.— A special 'Committee of the Eangiora Borough 'Council yesterday arranged with Mr 'Murdoct, the . lessee of the borough ■reserve, for an extension cf his lease from Sept. 1 to April 15, 1896, as value for the buildings he has erected on the property, -and which the Council was to tske over at a valuation on the expiration of the lease in August. The value of the buildings estimated at from £160 to £170. Union Bowing Club.— A committee meeting of this club was held at the boathousa Task evening j present— Messrs F. D.Kesteven (in the chair), A. Allan, G. H. [Cooper, A. E. Craddock, F. E. Hyman, D. Lee and G. H. Mason. A lengthy circnlar was received from the New Zealand Bowing Association, relative to instituting interprovinoial eight-oared races •in Now Zealand. Messrs Atack, Kesteven and Craddock- were appointed a committee to revise the rules and submit the same to a future meeting. The Mayor presided, and called on Mr J. D. Bruce to address the meeting, that gentleman having taken a prominent part in establishing the other E factories on the. Peninsula.
