MISSIONARY EXPERIENCES.
The Key Frederick Langhum, a veteran Wesleyan missions- y from Fij 1 , is at present in Auckland. He was the chairman of the Wesleyau Mission at Fiji, tie first wenb to Fiji in 1859, and is by far the oldeßt miFsioDary in tbe gronp. Unlike most other missionaries of to-day, he has seen mission service as it is generally supposed to be by tho uninitiated. Be went up into the mountains of the Fiji Group' immediately after the B'V Mr Biker had been killed and eaten by some cf the hill tribeß, in 18G6, and brought back some of that unfortunate clergyman's bone?. He bad several narrow escapes in the old days, and can relate many interesting adventures. He was very much respected throughout the group by natives and Europeans alike, and his departure, which i* final, is generally regretted. The natives subscribed a puree of money as "loloma," or gift, to present to him. Mr Langbam is retiring in order that he may have leisure to complete the translation of the revised version of tbo Bible, of which be has already dono several books in tho Old Testament.
