AUCKLAND TEOTTING CLUB. [Peb Pb^ss Association.] AUCKLAND, Mat 13.

The Auckland Trotting Club's meeting on Saturday was of an eventful character. The Selling Trot Handicap was won by Minnie. Then followed the Maiden Trot Handicap, which waa also won by Minnie, the sensational dividend o£ £35 153 for ten shilling tickets being returned. At the conclusion of the race a demonstration on the part of the public took place. It was alleged that a ticket had been rung on the winner at the conclusion of the race. The man in charge outside tried to allay the feelings of the excited crowd by telling them that it was impossible to put on an additional ticket without tinging the bell, but this would not satisfy them. An investigation proved that only four tickets had been sold, two inside and two outeide, and no account could be given as to how the fifth had been registered. Many perBona preaent alleged that they heard the bell ring at the conclusion of the race. The proprietor of the machine, who was in charge inside the machine, upon being made acquainted with the affair, examined the sale boxes, and found that only two tickets had been Bold outside 5 but he could get no explanation as to how a third ticket came to be registered. The complaint of the public was, however, justified by the fact that the total amount on the machine, less the ordinary percentage, was divided between four lucky investors. A false start occurred in the Maiden Pony Handicap, which had to be run over again. In the Stewards' Handicap- Trot there were threa false starts, the field being despatched at the fourth attempt. This led to a great scene of disorder. The public exercised what they considered their privilege, and indulged in behaviour which, unfortunately, of late is but too common on our racecourßeß. DTJNEDIN, Mat 18. The acceptances of Skirmisher and Eangintea for the Meeting were received on Saturday morning. The probabilities are that they were posted for despatch by the overland mail, but being late came on by the Flora's mail, arriving too late to be acoeptecl, » ,
