A Volunteer Rifle Association.
The committee appointed by the membfira of the Ohristchurch Garrison Library to draw up a scheme for a Volunteer Rifle Association in Canterbury baa sent a ciicular to commanding officers of oorpß, suggesting :—(l) That a Canterbury Eifle Association for volunteers be formed. (2) That the council consist of officers only. (3) That trophies, ammuaition and money be the prize--. (4) That there be two matchcß, one st 200 and SCO yards, scratch, and one at 500 and 600 yards handicap > one eighter to count at option, seven Bb«ts jat eaoh vnsw. (5) Ta*c volley firing be "a feature of the meeting, in squada of not less' than ten men under a non-commis-sioned officer.
