Mr Ho well, the Manager of the Broken Hill Proprietary Mine, in an interview denied the report that he did not propose to return, to Broken Hill. The^mine, he said, had free milling ores, which would last two years and a half, but then it would be necessary to face the refractory sul- | phides. LORD HOPETOUN. Lord Hopetoun took the oath and his Beat in the House of Lords. He also paid a visit to the House of Commons. GOVERNORSHIP RUMOURS. • Persistent rumours are current that Mr R. 0. Monro Ferguson, M.P. for Lei tli, will receive a colonial Governorship. THE WILDE CASE. Oscar Wilde has been released on bail, his sureties being Lord Douglas and the Rev Steward Headlam.
