Tbe police sub- j pected her, and, setting a watch, she was seen lifting boots With the assistance of j her daughters, from a shop. On her house | being searched, twenty pair of new boots ' were found. The charge waß remanded, to enable an owner for the boots to be found. James Blue was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment for vagrancy. He and a companion named Kennedy, who was sentenced last week, are strongly suspected of being concerned in some of the recent robberies. A number of delegates to the biennial session of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, American Constitution, which opens to-morrow, are in town. The delegates were entertained this afternoon by the Hen W. J. M. Larnaoh, and in the evening a eocial welcome meeting was held. ....;•
