St Maet's Church, Addington.— On Friday evening a lantern lecture was given in the schoolroom by Mr H. E. Wilkinson. The audience was a large one, and greatly appreciated the viewa and interesting incidents of travel described. The Eev W. S. Bean, on behalf of those present, thanked Mr Wilkinson for his kindness in giving the entertainment. The proceeds were in aid of the parish work. School Committees. — At a special meeting of the Springfield School Committee on Saturday evening Misa J. O'Shaughnessy was recommended for appointment as mistress. It was agreed to allow the children a holiday on March 27 on the occasion of a railway excursion to Ly ttelton. The tender of Mr T. Colyer for cutting fences waa accepted. — At a meeting of the Springston School Committee Miss Menzies, of the Halkett school, wfl s recommended for appointment as mistress.
