i NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION. [Peb Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, March 17. A meeting of th« Management Comi mittee of the New Zealand Rugby Union ■ was held on Saturday evening. Lettara were read from the Canterbury Union and Linwood Club with reference to matches with non-affiliated clubs at Easter, and it ,was decided that as tho committee would not be justified until the meeting of the new delegates to the Otago Union in supposing that that Union intended to maintain its former attitude during the coming season, permission should be granted -#!bere applied for for matches with Dunedin Clubs played prior to the meeting of the Otago Union, as was dona -last yesr. Pe?mission for the Linwood - Union match was therefore granted. Correspondence was received from Queensland respecting the proposed visit of a Queensland team to New Zealand during tho coming season, and it was decided to extend a cordial welcome to the visitors. It was reported that the Auckland Union representatives would tour New Zealand, visiting affiliated unions, this season, and that the Wellington Union would also send a teamaouth. It was aleo reported that Mr Logan, president of the New Zealand Union, was leaving on a visit to England this month, and 1 would pay a vioit to the English Union. A letter forwarded to the English Unian by the Otago Union, complaining of the Canterbury Union not having.' played Otago last season, end which had been forwarded for the information of the New Zealand Union by Mr Rowland Hall, was read. The letter of the Otago Union also made various complaints against the New Zealand Union. It was decided that'the affairs of the New Zealand Union concerned only the unionß -affiliated to it, who alone had a right to question its management.

Tho Albion Club opened the season on Saturday with a good attendance of members. feamß were picked by the Club Captain and Deputy-Club Captain, and after a fast game ended ia a win for the Deputy-Captain's side.
