The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve to be £26,706,000, and the proportion of reserve to liabilities 64.66.
Consols, 103. Three months' bills are discounted at 1 par cent.
New Zealand 4 per cent inscribed stock, 107. Three and a half per cent do, 102.
New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, steady at 255. South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 25s 6d; Victorian do, 25a.
New Zealand, frozen, mutton, first quality 4}d per lb, second 2£d. lamb, firat quality sd.
New Zealand hemp. Fifty bales were sold at £14 15s per ton.
Sugar, German beet, flat at 9s sd; Java, 12s 6d.
No. 1 Scotch pig iron, f.o.b. in the Clyde, flat, 42s 6d.
At the wool sales, competition was slow and irregular compared with the previous sales. Merinos of tair quality were from id to id per lb, and faulty and inferior were from £d to Id lower, Croas-breds were id lower.
