i An ordinary meeting of the Canterbury | Land Board was held on, Thursday ; pre- ! sent— Messrs J. W. A. Marchant, D. i M'Millan and A. C. Pringle. The follow- | ing applications for land were granted: — i Viilaga Homesteads — George J. Parhara, ! Block 6, Orari, 9a 2r 14p, Section 16, I Reserve 1237 ; H. A. Wheeler, Blocks 9 I and 10, Halswell, 10 acres, Section 10, ' Reserve 959 ; G. H. Churchward, Block 11, Halawell, 10 acres, Section 11, Reeerve 959; H. Harris, Block 11, Halswell, 10 acres, Section 12, Reserve 959, leases in perpetuity ; Mary M'Auliffe, 738, Arowhenua Village Settlement, Block 2, 1 rood ; Mary Dwyer, 746, Arowhenua, Block 2, 1 rood. The following transfers of leases or licenses were granted : — Run 115, Class 1, Clent Hillß Station, Thomas Harrison to James Harrison j Reserve 1237, Kangiteta, pastoral lease for five ye*xa, W. Wheelband to B. P. Bartrnm ; DaPerred- payment Liceane 544, Lots 23 and : 24, Reserve 2331, Oxford, S. M'Kee jand H". Campbell to S. M'Kee ; Pastoral Lease 47, Lot 50, Reserve 1371, Bangitata; G. E. Blisseti; to A. Palmer;' Pastoral Lease 2J3, Rural Section 36222, Hunter's Hills, Robert F. Harriot to Cftrliorino M'Lesn; Pastoral Laase 883, Lot 27, Reserve 1126, Waimate, P. Costigan to J. Fogarty. Satisfactory reports from the Crown Land Ranger were received upon the lands held by "William Bead, Wakanui; J. Hurley, Seafield; and S. F. Barber, Mount Somers. Two occupiera were called upon to show cause why they had not complied with the conditions of their leases. Richard Richards was granted a grazing leaae of Crown land in Waihi river-bed, adjoining Reserve 1298 snd Rural Reserve 14442, for one year, at .-61. It waa resolved to re-offer Lots 1 anS 3, Reserve 21G5, Seafield, for seleciion at the original capital value of jG4 per acre. Two perpetual leaseholders were granted till June SO to pay their rent, and another occupier was allowed till May 19. It waa resolved that the Board could nob .proclaim the land between the Rangitata and Orari rivers second class instead of first class, as asked by Mr E. B. Amyea. The Oxford Road Board applied for permission to expend thirds from Lot 21, Oxford Bush, on a diversion of road leading thereto. The Board resolved to approve the application, provided the road should be flr6t leeslified. J. Larobie applied for part of the Lake Ellesmere Reserve adjoining his property near Hart's Creek, and it was resolved that there waa no power to comply with his requeßt, and that the land applied for should bo surveyed and offered" at the first sale. It wa3 decided not to hold a meeting on May 24. ■ .
