CANTERBURY TYPOGRAPHICAL ASSOCIATION.

At the monthly Board meeting of the Canterbury Typographical Association on Saturday, a letter was read from the Wellington Association, suggesting the holding of a conference of the various Typographical Associations some time before the coming session of Parliament, for the purpose of considering matters of interest to the trade, the conference to meet in Wellington. It was decided to adopt the suggestion, and the secretary (Mr F. C. Gerard) was appointed to represent the Canterbury Association. A letter waa also received, inviting the Association to send delegates to a meeting of trade unions and other bodies, to be held on May 2, to discuss matters of mutual interest connected with the proposed revision of the tariff. It was decided to accept the invitation, and Mr P. Sprosen (vice-president) was delegated as the Association's representative.
