•— [Pcs Prhbs Association. 1 WELLINGTON, April 28. No further particulars are to hand relative to the suicide of Herbert Edmonds, schoolmaster at Pirinoa. Inspector Pender left yesterday afternoon for the purpose of being present at the inquest. It is underetood that Mr Gilruth, M.R.C.V.S., has resigned his josition as Government veterinary surgeon. The commission which has been inquiring into the complaints made by Mr Charlton, veterinary Burgeon, concluded its sittings to-day. The commission will report to the Government. The Post to-night says:—" We understand that tbe Directors of tbe Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company have decided to postpone consideration of the question of declaring a dividend until the close of the financial year. In the present depressed condition of business generally throughout the colony, the directors deem it prudent not co declare an interim dividend, as has been usual hitherto. There ip, however, no reason to fear that at the end of the year a dividend may not be declared as usual." p Captain Kennedy, of the Terranora, has telegraphed to the Marine Department that he has examined the wreckage off the Mohaka River, but was unable to remove it. The visible wreckage is the heel of a ma.t about ten feet above water in fourteen fathoms. The bearings from the mast are : Mohaka River, west' quarter south; and Waitua River, north-west quarter north, three miles and a half off shore. The ob3tiuction is almost directly in the track of vessels between Wairoa and Napier.
