A Report Denied. — A Dunedin telegram states that tbeie is no trath in the xeporfced resignation of Mr Carew, S.M., at Dunedin. Auction Sales.— Messrs Joseph Clarke and Son will offer for public auction at 10 a.m. on Satnrday a quantity of plums, apples, tomatoes, onions and potatoeß, and at 11 a.m. crockery, fancy goods and toys. Mk Beethah, S.M.—lfc iB stated that Mr R. Beetham, Stipendiary Magistrate, is contemplating retirement, having applied to the Government for the pension to which his thirty yeara' service entitles him. Canterbury Frozen Meat Company.— Through an error it was stated, in the announcements of meetings and amusements in the Lyttelton Times this morning, that the annual meeting of the Canterbury Frozen Meat and Dairy Produce Export Company would be held at 2.3Q p.m» to-day. The meeting in question will take place at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday next.
