DEVELOPING NEW SOUTH WALES.
Proposed Railways. [Special to Press Association.] I SYDNEY, Mabch 22. Mr E. Price Williams, the railway expert who was recently in New Zealand, is negotiating with the Government of New South ~WtJes for the construction of light railways to develop the resources of the colony. His proposal is somewhat on the lines of a land grant to railways combined with village settlements, but does not involve the alienation of Crown lands or the expenditure of public money. He suggests that the projected railways should bf placed in the hands of a trust for twenty one years after their construction, so thai the expenditure may be recouped by £ inking fund established for the extinction in that time, of the cost of construction.
