British and Foreign Bible Society.

The annual meeting of the Bangiorabranch of the British and Foreign Buile Society was held at the Institute Hall last night. Mr J. Sanßom, Mayor, presided, and there was au attendance of about Bixty or seventy. Tbe balance-sheet read by Mr E. El Good (treasurer) showed the receipts by collection to nave been J651 8b Id, of which J849 18* Id, had been forwarded to the Cbristchurch auxiliary to be remitted to the parent society. The receipts compared very favourably with thoße of previous years. The Bey H. B. Redstone moved— "That the balance-sheet;, as read, be adopted, and that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the collectors and the* office va of the society for their work in the district during the year." The Bey H. T. Bob Johns, the travelling representative of the eociety, seconded the motion, and delivered an interesting address. On the motion of the Her F. P. Fendall, seconded by the Rev E. N. Blakuton, the following officers were elected : — President, Mr M. Macfarlane ; vice-presidents, Messrs T. Wilson and C. A. Cunningham ; secretary and treasurer, Mr E. B. Good ; com* mittae, Messrs M. Amy, W. H. Foster, Di Graham, B. Lieaaman, G. Watson, J. Withers, W. Meech, and all ministers who subscribe to the Society. Voteß of thanks wera paaaed to the Rev Hi. T. Robjohna fo* his addreßs, to the United Methodist Church choir for leading the singing, and to the Chairman. The proceedings were' then closed with the benediction.
