Abhburton High School. — At a meeting of the Ashburton High School Board held on Friday, six months' leave of absence was granted to Mr J. E. Buchanan, the head-master, and bis son, Mr Edgar Buchanan, was temporarily appointed in his place. Mr Buchanan purposes taking a trip to England. Nbw Saleyards at Rangiora.— Yesterday Mr W. Busa let a contract to Mr Q. Thompson, builder, for the erection of new saleyards in place of the present ones in Victoria Street. The new yards will be , constructed of sawn timber throughout, 1 and will be of a moat convenient and com- ' modioua description.
