At Geraldine, on Sunday morning, Mr Peter Henry M'Shane, a farmer residing at Geraldine Flat, went from his house to a stable to get his horae and trap. After some time had passed Mra M'Shane went to the stable, and found her husband lying dead, It is conjectured that a bloodvessel broke in the head. Shocking cage accidents have occurred in the winding shafts of two Welsh collieries. At the Naval Colliery, Penycraig, two cages oollided while passing in tho shaft 225 yarda £rom the surface. Three men were jerked down the pit and instantaneously killed, and another, essaying to slide down the guide-rope, fell and sharsd the same fate. Six men were being drawn up in the Bodringall pit, Khondda, when the rope broke and the c»ge fell— fortunately nob a great distance— to the bottom. The men in the cage were seriously injured, and a miner who happened t> b* engaged ab the bottom of the shaft waa inttintly killed.
