New Zealand Bands' Association.

The adjourned meeting of the Executive was held last night ; presont — Messrs James M'Cullough, W. Mansell (honorary secretary), John M'Lean, J. Painter, A. Gordon, W. F. M'Lean, and John Hughes. Mr R. T. Searell was voted to the chair. Correspondence regarding the election of judge was received from Fort Chalmers, Timaru, Garrison, and Guards (Invercargill), Lieutenant Siddall, and Dunedin Navals. Exception being taken to the new departure in the election of judge, on the motion of Mr W. F. M'Lean the election was postponed till the general meeting in Dunedin next month. Several notices of motion were received affecting future elections, band-masters holding positions in non-affiliated bands, and other matters, which were ordered to be forwarded prior to the Dunedin meeting. Mr K. C. Bishop was unanimously elected an honorary member, and it was decided to invite other gentlemen to join. Arrangements for the general meeting were left to the Secretary and the members of the Dunedin bands, viz., Navals, Engineers and Kaikorai. Efforts are being made to increase the Dumber of associated bands; and it was decided to write to the New Brighton, Woolston, Burnham, Kaiapoi and Rangiora bands regardmg affiliation. Various other uinbr questions were dieposed of, and the meeting adjourned.
