Wellington Racing Club. [Pbb Pbess Association.] HUTT RACECOURSE, Jan. 22. The Wellington Racing Club's summer meeting was commenced to-day. The fol- ' lowing are details of the racing up to the time of our going to press : — ANNIVEBSABY HANDICAP, of 100 sots. One mile. Johnny Faa, Bst 41b (Gv Mathews) 1 Krina, 7st 91b 2 Violence, 7st 2U> 3 liberator 9st 31b, end Queen of Trumps 7st 81b also started. j Erina and Violence were the first to break the line, with Johnny Faa last. At the back of the course the last-named joined the leader?, and he, with Erina, drew out from the others. Entering the straight Johnny Faa left Krina, and going on won rather easily by half a length. Time— lmia 46sec. Dividend — .£3lsa. j HANDICAP HUEDLB EACE, of 80 sovs. Two ' miles. Clarence, list lib 1 Oaklands, lOst 2 Jacob, 9st 51b 3' Dromedary lOst 121b and Langley the Devil 9st 101b also started. j Langley the Devil and Dromedary cut out the running for a mile, when Oaklands joined them. At the back of the course Clarence challenged Oaklands, and both Langley the Devil and Dromedary fell away beaten. Oaklands led into the straight, but Clarence cut him down at the distance and won by half a length. Time — 3«liin 59Jeec. Dividend — £2. HANDICAP HACK HUBDLE BACE, of 30 sovs. One mile and a half. Tenby, 9st 101b 1 Vivacious, list 71b 2 The only other starter, Brooklyn, fell, and Tenby won after leading all the way. WELLINGTON CUP, a piece of plate valop 103 sovs, with 400 sovs added. One mile and a half.
Revolution and Retina led for half a mile, with King Harry, Vogengancr, Prime Warden and Clanranald next in order. Rosefeldt moving up at the top turn, Retina retired, and Vogengang went on, with Clanranald and Rosefeldt his nearest attendants. Vogengang had all the beat of the struggle down the straight, and won by half a length, Rosefeldt a fair third. Time— 2min 41sec. Dividend— £s Bs. NUBSEBY HANDICAP, of 100 sova. Five
