[Special to Pjbess Association.] MILITARY EXAMINATION. LONDON, Nov. 29. Lieutenant Fitzgerald, of Victoria, has passed a splendid military examination, and 18 entitled to the choice of a commission in almost any regiment in the service. AN UNPAID TAILOR'S BILL. The Marquis of Donegal, being unable to pay his tailor's account, claimed exemption on the ground that he was a peer. The tailor sned for the amount, and Mr Justice Lumley Smith, who heard the case, committed the Marquis to HoUoway prison for twelve days, but suspended the issue of the warrant for two months.

A FATAL FIGHT. .MELBOURNE, Nov. 29. Four men have been arrested for the murder of a. man named Glasgow, who died from the effect of injuries received in a fight in which the accused took part. The Premier is obtaining a report on the treatment of lunatics with a view of considering the utilisation of private asylums instead of erecting large aßylumß under State control. It is feared, however, that the expense will be too great. AN UNPLEASANT CHARGE. ADELAIDE, Nov. 29. The Labour Party has advised Mr Wood, M.L.A., whose name has been mentioned in connection with a bigamous marriage, to resign his seat in the House. Mr Wood a few days ago requested the police to investigate the charge made against him, and the authorities are considering the matter. .
